Answer

Standard mouse functions (click speed, cursor speed etc) can be set using the normal Windows configuration screen. (Start>Configuration>Mouse).

When you press and hold down the scroll wheel button for 5 seconds, the mouse will vibrate after 18 seconds instead of the normal 12. As a result, the mouse will ibrate less ofter. If you move the cursor around on the screen, the vibration will be delayed, but not indefinitely. To properly learn to remove your hand from the mouse as often as you can, we do advise you to keep this setting on 12 seconds. Presing and holding the scrollwheel button again for 5 seconds will return the mouse to the normal setting.

If for some reason you need to temporarily disable the vibration, hold both buttons down for 5 seconds. Until you do that again or until the next reboot, the mouse will no longer vibrate.

Sym83: all changes will remain active until the power to the mouse is interrupted (unplug or reboot).

Ergologic: Changes will remain active in the mouse's on-board memory. You can move the mouse to amother computer, keeping all settings intact. The Ergologic has a lot more parameters that can be set. Consult the manual on how to do that. There is a downloadable software program that allows you to manage the settings conveniently. However, for normal operation no drivers or software need to be installed.
