Most people hold on to their mouse constantly, even if they are not using it actively. This causes much unneccessary muscle tension. This muscle tnsion makes you tired and and can cause a stiff neck and shoulders, cold hands, tingling feeling and even pain. By releasing your mouse regularly and relaxing your muscles, you will remain fit and healthy and be more productive.
But how can you make sure you release the mouse regularly? The Vibramouse helps you do just that. The Vibramouse detects is your hand is on or even just hanging over the mouse. If you don't actually use it for a while, it signals (vibration, LED or both, depeding on the model) to remind you to take your hand off the mouse and relax. You can continue to work, read, talk, think, without interruption. You will soon start to respond automatically when you receive a signal, you won't even notice it consciously.

Muscle graph

Here you see what happens...

...with your muscles when you are using a mouse. The red line shows the tension in your arm-muscles. When you are actively clicking and scrolling, you can see some peaks caused by movement. When you leave your hand on the mouse (mouse passive) and try to relax, the peaks disappear, but the muscle tension remains elevated. Only when you release the mouse and rest your hand on the table, your muscles will relax.
