Step 4: Exercise 2

Practice

  • Press the 'Windows' key on your keyboard (the key with the Windows logo left/right of the space bar)
  • This opens the Start menu
  • Place the mouse cursor on 'All programs'. The menu with all programs will open automatically without clicking.
  • Place the mouse cursor on 'Accessories'. The next menu will open. View the contents of the menu "System Tools" without clicking or scrolling.
  • By now the mouse will have most likely vibrated.

This is because movement by itself will not keep the mouse from vibrating. Only clicks or scrolls will have this effect.

Let's do the same exercise with clicking:

  • Press the 'Windows' key
  • Click on "All Programs" and now click on "Accessories" and on "System Tools".
  • This will allow you to continue navigating without the mouse vibrating (and it is faster).

To avoid 'useless' holding of the mouse, it will also vibrate when moving without clicking or scrolling. You will be giving more time when just moving for ease of use.
